VII. Quality Development

  • 1. Recognition of laboratories and HACCP implementation and certification agencies

    • a) 40 laboratories were recognized including 2 newly recognized laboratories for sampling and analysis of APEDA scheduled products for exports. 
    • b) 6 certification agencies and 5 implementation agencies were recognized for certification and implementation of HACCP during the period. 

  • 2. Development and implementation of Procedures for Exports

    • a) Procedures for exports of fresh table grapes to the European Union through control of residues of agro chemicals to ensure food safety compliances for export season 2017-18.
    • b) Procedures for exports of Pomegranates through control of residues of agro chemicals to ensure food safety compliances for export season 2017-18.
    • c) Procedures for exports of peanuts and peanut products from India to ensure food safety compliances of the importing countries.
    • d) Procedure for issue of Health Certificate for exports of okra to EU.
    • e) Procedure for export of vegetables from India
    • f) Procedure for issue of Health Certificate for export of Betel Leaves to EU.

  • 3. Development of Procedures of recognition of peanut processing units:

    • a) Procedure for grant of recognition certificate to peanut processing units for export of peanuts.
    • b) Procedure for grant of recognition certificate to peanut shelling & or grading units for export of peanuts.
    • c)    Procedure for grant of recognition certificate to godowns/storage for export of peanuts.

  • 4. Standardization and harmonization:

    • a) Participated and represented APEDA in the Indian Delegation to 20th Session of Codex Committee on Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Kampala Uganda 1-6 October 2017.
    • b) Participated and represented APEDA in the Indian Delegation to 11th Session of Codex Committee on Contaminants in Food Rio de Janeiro Brazil 3-7 April 17.
