VIII. Market Development
- 1.1 World Food Moscow 11-14 September 2017
APEDA participated in World Food Moscow 2017 at Moscow, Russia, from 11th – 14th September 2017 and booked an area of 120 sq. mts. The participation was coordinated by Dr. Tarun Bajaj, GM, APEDA and Shri N. Ramesh, Director, MoC&I. A total of 11 exporters participated out of which 4 are new exporters, 1 exporter is of SC category and 6 are old exporters. A wide range of agricultural products, such as Ready to eat products, rice, Processed food items, fruits and vegetables, Organic tea, freeze dried products, Frozen fruits & vegetable, Dehydrated items, Dairy products etc. were promoted during the event.
- 1.2 Saudi Agro Food, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia-2017 from 8-11 October, 2017
APEDA participated in Saudi Agro Food Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, 2017 from 8th to 11th October 2017 and booked an area of 200 sq. mts. The participation was coordinated by Mr. T Sudhakar, DGM, APEDA Hyderabad. A total of 6 companies participated and promoted their products in the Indian pavilion such as Basmati Rice, Processed food items and Dehydrated products.
- 1.3 Anuga, 7-11 October, 2017, Colonge Germany.
APEDA participated in Anuga 2017 at Colonge, Germany from 7th to 11th October 2017 and booked an area of 504 sq. mts. This year India was the `Partner Country’ and Hon’ble Minster of Ministry of Food Processing Industry, Smt. Harsimrat Kaur Badal inaugurated the India Pavilion.
APEDA’s participation was coordinated by Mr. Sunil Kumar, Director, APEDA and Mrs. Vinita Sudhanshu, DGM, APEDA, New Delhi. Shri D K Singh, Chairman, APEDA and Shri Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Joint Secretary, MOC&I were also present during the event.
A total of 33 exporters participated out of which 26 were new exporters and 6 old exporters. A wide range of agricultural products, such as Ready to eat products, rice, wine, Processed food items, fruits and vegetables, Organic tea, freeze dried products, Frozen fruits & vegetable, Dehydrated items, Dairy products etc. were displayed during the event.
- 1.4 Food & Hotel China 2017 Exhibition, Shanghai, 14-16 Nov, 2017
APEDA participated in 21st Food & Hotel China 2017 Exhibition held from 14 – 16 November 2017 at Shanghai New International Centre (SNIEC), Shanghai, China. Eight exporters of ready to eat products, processed products, mango pulp, fresh horticulture produce, Haldiram Namkeen, Biscuits & Daily Grocery, ready to cook frozen products, rice and bran oil, Dried and preserved vegetables, other processed fruits and vegetables, misc preparations, etc participated along with APEDA. APEDA had booked a space of 54 sq. mtrs at the Exhibition. The Pavilion was given Indian Theme by using National Try colours. India’s Pavilion was inaugurated by Consul General of India in Shanghai, Shri. Anil Kumar Rai. APEDA’s representatives Mr. U.K. Vats, General Manager and Mr. C. S. Dudeja from APEDA managed the APEDA pavilion.
Wet sampling of Kingfisher Beer, Haldiram Products, and ready to cook products such as samosa, parantha and batata vada was done by the exporters along with display of other products and brochures. Large number of people thronged at the stall on all three days to savor the Indian delicacies
- 1.5 Mango Promotion Programme, South Korea from 25th – 27th May, 2017
APEDA organized the Mango promotion programme in South Korea from 25-27 May, 2017. This programme was led by Shri D K Singh, Chairman APEDA & Dr. C B Singh, AGM, Mumabi APEDA.
2. Statutory Division
2.1 Authority meetings of APEDA
During the year 2017-18, two meetings of APEDA Authority were held on 20th April, 2017 and 21st September, 2017 at New Delhi.
2.2 APEDA Award Function for the years 2014-15 & 2015-16
In order to felicitate the exporters for their distinguished services in exports of Indian Agro and Processed Food, 22nd APEDA Award Function was held on 12th June, 2017 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
A total of 82 awards were presented for the years 2014-15 and 2015-16 in the following categories :
Diamond - 2
Gold - 33
Silver – 29
Bronze – 18.
The coveted awards were presented by Smt. Rita Teaotia, Commerce Secretary, Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
