Lifting temporary restrictions imposed on Sesame seeds
and Groundnuts export from India to Russia

It has been informed vide office memorandum no. F. No. 2/08/2007-FT (CIS) Vol-III part II, Government of India, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Department of Commerce that Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of the Russian Federation (FSVPS) has lifted the temporary restrictions imposed on Sesame seeds and Groundnuts export from India to Russia for four months w.e.f. 17th September 2007 with the following conditions:

  1. Sesame seeds and Groundnuts export from India to Russia should carry the quality and safety certification issued by Sri Ram Institute for Industrial Research or any other agency as may be notified from time to time.
  2. Apart from the above documents, each consignment of Sesame seeds and Groundnuts would be accompanied with a Phytosanitary Certificate.
  3. Restrictions on Sesame seeds and Groundnuts export from India to Russia can be introduced w.e.f. 15th January 2008 in case of failure to comply with quality requirements & assurance.
