Post graduate in agriculture, bio technology, food technology or in a related subject

Experience

20 years of which 5 years in regulatory work in implementation of Organic Standards and QMS as per ISO Standards.

 

Should have working knowledge in computer

1.10 lakhs plus applicable service tax

 

 
Senior Technical Officer (Organic Live Stock products)
 

Age limit as on 1.7.2015

40 years

Educational Qualification

Post Graduate in Veterinary Science

Desired Qualifications

Qualification in Quality Audits/ Regulatory matters/ Organic production of Live Stock products (meat/ poultry/dairy/

Aquaculture)

Experience

Minimum 3 years work experience in Audit in QMS as per ISO Standards.

SCOPE OF WORK FOR THE CONTRACTUAL POSITION OF ADVISOR (NAB) FOR ORGANIC PRODUCTS

 
A. STANDARDS SETTING AND IMPLEMENTATION
 
  • Regularly examine international standards such as those of Codex, IFOAM, and of the EU, US etc. and suggest measures for NPOP
  • Contribution to the CODEX standards for labeling of organic products;
  • Contribution to the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) with regard to the criteria of ISO-65, ISO-17011, multilateral agreements with other member countries and contribution to other activities of IAF;
  • Implementation of NPOP standards;
  • Maintenance of Quality Management System in Organic Division as per ISO-17011.
 
B. ACCREDITATION ACTIVITIES
 
  • Screening and evaluation of eligible applications for accreditation as inspection and certification agency;
  • Evaluation of testing laboratories for accreditation;
  • Facilitate work of NAB in the accreditation process for NPOP and NOP;
  • Annual surveillance of inspection and certification agencies and appraise NAB on the follow up action to be taken;
  • Assessment for extension of accreditation of certifying bodies;
  • Handling of complaints and appeals.
 
C. PACKAGES OF PRACTICES
 
  • Preparation of product-specific and location-specific package of practices;
  • Vetting of package of practices for various products.
 
D. WEB-BASED TRACEABILITY SYSTEM
 
  • Strengthening of the system to ensure uniformity in the application of NPOP and NOP standards;
  • Monitoring of the certification bodies using the MIS reports generated through the TraceNet;
  • Extending the traceability system to the accreditation process.
 
E. IMPLEMENTATION OF FINANCIAL SCHEMES BY APEDA
 
  • Implement the APEDA financial schemes in respect of organic products.
 
F. BILATERAL CO-OPERATION WITH TRADING PARTNERS
 
  • Take necessary initiatives for equivalence with trading partners;
  • Facilitating review audits by regulatory bodies of importing countries, e.g., EU-FVO and USDA Missions, etc.
 
G. CAPACITY BUILDING
 
  • Capacity building for setting up of certification programs by State Govt.;
  • Capacity building of APEDA officers and the Evaluation Committee.
 
H. ANY OTHER RESPONSIBILITY GIVEN BY THE NAB OR APEDA
 
  • Capacity building for setting up of certification programs by State Govt.;
  • Capacity building of APEDA officers and the Evaluation Committee.

  • Implementation of NPOP standards for livestock products.
 
B. ACCREDITATION ACTIVITIES
 
  • Screening and evaluation of eligible applications for accreditation in respect of livestock products;
  • Support Advisor (NAB) in the accreditation process;
  • Carry out annual surveillance of inspection and certification agencies and advise Advisor (NAB) on the follow up action to be taken;
  • Assessment for extension of accreditation of certifying bodies;
  • Handling of complaints and appeals.
 
C. CAPACITY BUILDING
 
  • Participate in the capacity building programmes organized by APEDA.
 
D. ANY OTHER RESPONSIBILITY GIVEN BY NAB/ APEDA
 

SCOPE OF WORK FOR THE CONTRACTUAL POSITION OF TECH. OFFICER IN APEDA FOR ORGANIC PRODUCTS

 
A. STANDARDS SETTING AND IMPLEMENTATION
 
  • Regularly examine international standards for organic products such as those of Codex, IFOAM etc. and suggest measures for NPOP;
 
B. CAPACITY BUILDING
 
  • Support State Govts. in introducing organic production programmes on a project mode;
  • Capacity building for setting up of certification programs by State Govt. as per ISO standards;
  • Support Advisor (NAB) in training of organic inspectors as per ISO;
  • Co-ordinate training programmes for the Evaluation Committee;
  • Participate in the capacity building programmes organized by APEDA.
 
C. IMPLEMENTATION OF APEDA FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE SCHEMES
 
  • Implement the APEDA financial schemes in respect of organic products.
 
D. ANY OTHER RESPONSIBILITY GIVEN BY APEDA
